As winter approaches, so do the beauty challenges. Around this time of year, we are recovering from a flurry of holiday activities and you might have noticed the cold weather taking a toll on your beautiful skin. If you’re looking less than your best, there’s no need to fret! All you need to do is focus on moisturization and exfoliation and you’ll be good as new.
The first step in restoring your skin to perfect condition is to moisturize it. When temperatures plummet, you should switch out your bar soaps for cleansing gels. Bar soaps are harsh on your skin and can strip it of oils, making it crack and dry out. Gels are gentler. Also, after washing, be sure to apply lotion to lock in your skin’s natural moisture.
In addition to moisturizing, you should also be exfoliating to remove your excess dead skin cells. Find an exfoliating scrub or make your own, and be sure it use it a couple of times per week. Be careful not to exfoliate too much—scrubs can aggravate your skin and make it look red. You can also use a scrub or an old toothbrush and warm water to exfoliate your lips. You don’t want your lipstick looking flaky! Also, consider investing in a loofah to exfoliate your body while you’re washing in the shower.
Winter can be your skin’s worst enemy, but there are measures you can take to fight it. If you want to look good at parties and gatherings with family and friends, however, you can do it! Moisturize and exfoliate your skin, and you’ll be good to go. Your dewy, supple skin and radiant glow will be the envy of your friends and family. After all, self-confidence is the best gift any woman could ask for.
