Woman wearing sleep mask

1. Use a silk or satin pillowcase.

It’s not pretentious, it’s the truth! These fabrics are kinder to your skin and allow you to slide across them without piling up wrinkles on your face.

2. Speaking of pillowcases, change them often.

Even well washed skin will shed some cells and germs overnight while you are sleeping. Wash your pillowcases frequently, so you’re not resting your lovely skin on top of bacteria nests, and flip your pillows over on days you’re not changing them.

3. Speaking of sleeping, try it on your back.

If it’s comfortable for you, give it a try! Think of how many hours you spend mushing those lovely lines into your face at night over the course of a year.  It’s like giving your wrinkles a helping hand.  Sleeping on your back takes that advantage away.

4. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

For a fresh look in the morning, tuck your clean skin in with a nightly moisturizer or beauty serum and make sure to apply a balm to your lips as well.  We would be happy to make some recommendations based on your skin type at your next appointment!

5. Sleep with a humidifier on.

Especially during the winter when the air, indoors and out, is much dryer a bedside humidifier can do wonders for your skin.

6. Go to bed with a clean face.

It’s a no brainer, but we’ve all been tempted just to crawl under the sheets and deal with it in the morning.  But by the morning your skin will already be paying for it.

Most skin transformations take place with just a few simple changes/improvements in our daily routine.  Schedule your next appointment today, and make sure to ask us what improvements you can make in your skin care routine!
